Victor Villalpando joins Alignment Credit investment team as Associate

Kevin Coyne, Senior Analyst

Mr. Coyne joined Alignment Credit as a Senior Analyst in November 2020. Mr. Coyne was previously an investment banking analyst at Stifel Financial’s Leveraged Finance Group, where he started in 2019. Mr. Coyne received his B.S. in Finance from Fordham University.

Victor Villalpando, Associate

Mr. Villalpando joined Alignment Credit as an Associate in September 2019. Mr. Villalpando was previously an investment banking Associate at MUFG’s Financial Sponsors Group, where he started in 2017. Previously, Mr. Villalpando graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University.

Eric T. Court, Principal

Mr. Court is a Principal at Alignment Credit and serves on its Investment Committee. He joined AC in 2018 to leverage his extensive equity and credit underwriting experience, having worked in private equity for over a decade prior to joining AC.

Prior to joining AC, Mr. Court spent three years as a Vice President of Trivergance, a private equity firm focused on the travel, business and consumer services, digital media and technology sectors. Prior to joining Trivergance, Mr. Court was a Vice President at Charterhouse Equity Partners where he focused on leveraged buyout investments in the middle market. At Charterhouse, Mr. Court was responsible for sourcing, executing, overseeing and exiting investments of portfolio companies in the business services, consumer products and services, and healthcare services sectors. Prior to joining Charterhouse, Mr. Court was an Associate at Atlantic Street Capital where his primary responsibilities included the evaluation, execution and monitoring of special situation transactions across a variety of industries. Mr. Court started his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Jefferies in the Leveraged Finance Group.

Mr. Court received his M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and holds a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.

Vadim Margulis, Managing Partner

Mr. Margulis is the Managing Partner of Alignment Credit. He co-founded Alignment AC to capitalize on his expertise in sourcing, investing, and managing credit and private equity investments. He has more than twenty (20) years in corporate finance and strategy, private credit and equity, management consulting and investment banking, with the leading firms including Equifin Capital, McKinsey, Bear Stearns, KPMG and Accenture. Mr. Margulis possesses a broad industry sector expertise in specialty finance, TMT, retail / consumer, industrial products and healthcare services.

Mr. Margulis received his M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and his undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Odessa National University. Mr. Margulis performs Board Observer duties at Alignment portfolio companies and has served on the Boards of Directors of several private companies.
